— WWE is so thin on veteran guys who can work, they’ve actually thought about bringing back a member of the legendary Rock ‘N Roll Express tag team to use as an active wrestler. WWE is thinking about bringing back Robert Gibson. Gibson is currently an assistant trainer in Ohio Valley Wrestling. If Gibson ends up being brought back, he’ll be used in similar capacity to Dave Taylor to help the young wrestlers get basic wrestling techniques down. Gibson turned 49 years old in July, although he’s said to be in good shape.

After being let go by WCW in 1991, Gibson briefly turned up in WWE in 1993 as a part of a Smoky Mountain Wrestling invasion angle. He then turned up again in WCW in 1996 for a brief run because Eric Bischoff was signing practically any wrestler with name value. Gibson turned up in WWE again in 1998 as a part of the short-lived “NWA” angle, but disappeared as soon as the angle ended. Gibson made a one-night appearance in WCW in 2000 on an episode of WCW Saturday Night. Immediately after Hacksaw Jim Duggan found the WCW Television Championship in a trash can, Robert Gibson came out of nowhere and challenged him to a title match later in the show. Gibson lost the match and was never seen in WCW again. In 2003, Gibson briefly turned up in TNA as a member of Vince Russo’s Sports Entertainment Xtreme faction. Gibson was brought in as an assistant trainer at OVW last December.

— Jim Ross did a scathing blog on his website talking about the suspensions and recent drug scandal. He was actually soft to the guys in his blog in contrast to how he’s really feeling behind the scenes. He has no sympathy for the wrestlers buying drugs online or for the guys who said that they weren’t doing anything when it later turned out to be untrue.

— According to the updated schedule on her official website, Lilian Garcia will be doing the ring announcing for some SmackDown shows next week. The reason for this is because SmackDown is holding three shows in Spain and well, Garcia has ties to Spain. GarcĂa resided in Madrid, Spain for the first eight years of her life due to her father’s employment with the American Embassy, and was schooled on an American military base, leading her to describe herself as a military brat.
