WWE books Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton II for Chicago house show

It looks like things aren’t quite settled between Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton.

Chicago’s Allstate Arena announced on their verified Facebook page on Monday afternoon that Lesnar vs. Orton II will take place at the arena’s September 24th house show in Chicago, IL. Paul Heyman later confirmed the news on his Twitter account.

According to Dave Meltzer, WWE will announce the match today. The house show isn’t currently scheduled to be a WWE Network special, but it would make sense for it to be given the profile of the match.

The match is scheduled for the day before Raw’s Clash of Champions pay-per-view on September 25th in Indianapolis, IN. Neither Lesnar nor Orton are scheduled for the PPV, making the decision to put the match on a house show even stranger.

Lesnar defeated Orton by TKO at SummerSlam, brutally bloodying him in the process. Orton required 10 staples to close the wound on his forehead after Lesnar opened him up the hard way with stiff elbow strikes.

On last week’s edition of SmackDown, Orton said that things weren’t over between him and Lesnar but he was interrupted by Bray Wyatt before he could finish his promo.

After the match at SummerSlam, Lesnar laid out SmackDown General Manager Shane McMahon with an F5. Lesnar’s storyline punishment for his actions was a $500 fine issued by Stephanie McMahon, and the relatively small sanction seems intended to further conflict between the McMahon siblings.
