All Elite Wrestling has announced that Riho will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Emi Sakura this Saturday, Nov. 9th at Full Gear, live on pay-per-view.
Sakura, 43, is heading into her title match on something of a winning streak. Over the last two weeks the veteran has scored five victories for as many promotions, including a Fatal 4-Way win on AEW DARK over three of the division’s brightest, and a successful defense of the 3CW Women’s title in Tokyo.
Riho has been on an even more impressive roll of late. In the month of October alone she of course won the AEW Women’s World Championship over Nyla Rose in the series premiere of Dynamite, then scored back-to-back wins on television including a successful title defense against Britt Baker.
She’s also been competing in the Goddesses of Stardom Tag League as the tag team partner of Starlight Kid. The two currently sit with five points (two wins, two losses and a time limit draw). Riho also teamed with Kenny Omega this past weekend at DDT Ultimate Party 2019.
