Vince McMahon Furious with Shinsuke Nakamura Over Botched Move?

A few weeks back on Smackdown, John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura faced off against each other in a match that would determine the number one contender to the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Shinsuke managed to pin Cena in the middle of the ring fairly and decisively, but the match has been talked about for an entirely different reason. There was a scary moment in the match which saw Nakamura attempt to give the sixteen-time champion a back suplex. Unfortunately, this resulted in Cena landing hard onto his neck. While there were reports that Cena forgave Nakamura instantly and most people understood that accidents happen in the ring, one man was still very upset.
A new report claims that Vince McMahon was said to be furious when he witnessed the botched move executed on Cena. Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated revealed that the WWE Chairman was not at all happy with what happened to Cena. It seems as though Vince was upset about the move hurting Cena more than anything else. It makes sense seeing as how WWE still relies on John Cena and he is one of the biggest stars in the entire company. WWE does have plans for John Cena going forward – he is believed to be jumping over to the Raw brand shortly after SummerSlam. A catastrophic injury to Cena would definitely be a big blow to the company right now.
As far as Nakamura is concerned, there’s no reason to be too worried at the moment. McMahon is said to still be behind Nakamura, and he sees a ton of potential in him. However, the belief is that if Nakamura does cause one more huge mistake like this, Vince may end up changing his mind on him. “The King of Strong Style” may want to be a bit more careful in the future, because being labeled as an ‘unsafe worker’ is definitely difficult for some wrestlers to overcome. Regardless of what happens in the future, Nakamura is still set to challenge Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship in his very first ever SummerSlam match at the pay-per-view next Sunday.
