Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said Monday that Ankara will resume its military operations in northern Syria if the Kurdish leftist YPG militia does not vacate the region, according to Reuters.

The agreement called for the removal of YPG from a territory bordering Turkey in northeastern Syria in exchange for Turkey halting its offensive.
“If we do not obtain a result, we will do what is necessary, just as we launched the operation after trying with the U.S.,”Çavuşoğlu said.
Turkey considers the YPG a terrorist organization. The U.S. relied heavily on the militia in operations against ISIS in the region.
