President Trump ramped up his attacks on Democratic House candidate Jon Ossoff on Tuesday afternoon, noting on Twitter that Ossoff does not live in the district where he is running for Congress.
“Just learned that Jon @Ossoff, who is running for Congress in Georgia, doesn’t even live in the district. Republicans, get out and vote!” Trump wrote on Twitter about two hours before polls close in the special election.
Ossoff, who currently lives just outside of Georgia’s 6th Congressional district, said Tuesday that he plans to move back into the district once his girlfriend completes medical school at Emory University.

The tweet from Trump was the second time the president attacked Ossoff Tuesday, when voters head to the polls to decide who will fill the seat vacated by Republican Tom Price when he became Trump’s Health and Human Services secretary. Earlier in the day, the president took to Twitter to encourage Republicans to vote in the election, arguing that Ossoff is “weak on crime” and immigration.

“Democrat Jon Ossoff would be a disaster in Congress. VERY weak on crime and illegal immigration, bad for jobs and wants higher taxes. Say NO,” Trump wrote Tuesday morning.
“Republicans must get out today and VOTE in Georgia 6. Force runoff and easy win! Dem Ossoff will raise your taxes-very bad on crime & 2nd A.”
Eighteen primary candidates from all parties are facing off Tuesday. The top two vote-getters, regardless of party, will advance to a run-off election unless one clinches 50 percent of the vote.
