Top Name Originally Considered to Replace Roman Reigns at WWE TLC
As seen at WWE TLC last Sunday night, Roman Reigns was pulled from the event due to illness, and was replaced by WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE originally considered replacing Reigns at the PPV with Chris Jericho, however Jericho’s touring schedule with Fozzy would not allow him to appear at TLC. As noted, Vince McMahon made the final decision to offer the spot to Kurt Angle, and the decision was made on the Friday before the PPV.

The main event of WWE TLC saw the returning Angle team up with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins as an honorary member of The Shield. Angle’s team was able to defeat The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, Braun Strowman and Kane after The Shield hit a Triple Powerbomb on The Miz to allow Angle to score the pin fall.
