Nyla Rose has captured the AEW Women’s title.
She became champion during tonight’s episode of Dynamite. After a back and forth match, Riho was able to land several big moves on Rose, including two dragon suplexes and a northern lights suplex. However, Rose was able to hold on and eventually pinned Riho with a sitout powerbomb to win the championship for the first time.
After the match, Rose was shown walking to the back and accepting a hug from Tony Khan. She then exchanged words with Kenny Omega, who has been associated with Riho in storyline, before walking away.
Riho had been champion for 134 days, winning the title during the premiere episode of Dynamite on October 2. Coincidently, she defeated Nyla Rose to become the first AEW Women’s champion. Notable championship matches included Riho defeating Britt Baker on an episode of Dynamite as well as her mentor Emi Sakura at Full Gear.
Dynamite next week will take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
