As we noted last week, despite Rey Mysterio competing for NJPW at Dominion over the weekend, and having commitments outside of WWE lasting throughout the summer, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Live recently that talks between Mysterio and WWE are in fact ongoing.
It was also noted that Mysterio’s return to WWE could come in September, once he finishes up his current summer dates, however, Meltzer noted on the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Mysterio could actually be returning to WWE sooner than September. Meltzer added it depends on the money offer made by WWE, and how many dates the company wants him to work vs how many he wants to work, but with SummerSlam taking place in August, it is very possible WWE makes a play to bring Mysterio back in time for the big event.
