SOUTHLAND’S JAMES SCHRADER may as well start wearing a cape, because this is superhero stuff.
The ITM Cup kicked off in New Zealand this week, with Southland and Auckland playing out a cracking 23-23 draw to get the competition up and running, with Southland substitute James Schrader pulling off the most incredible try-saving tackle during the second half.
Auckland’s Lolagi Visinia looked certain to score as he reached out over the line to touch the ball down, but out of nowhere, Schrader came out of nowhere to slide in and snatch the ball from Visinia’s hands.
However, Schrader’s heroics weren’t enough to stop Auckland scoring a final try to tie things up at 23.
