Strasbourg are looking to continue their oddly top heavy transfer window in which they have added Kevin Gamiero from Valencia to an imposing list of forwards but have yet to truly replace three first team centre-backs who left over the summer with just Marseille youngster Lucas Perrin arriving as cover.
According to Foot Mercato, the Alsace club are in talks with recently relegated Nîmes for their attacking midfielder Zinedine Ferhat, making a permanent offer, the size of which has not yet filtered through, for the 28-year-old.
However, Strasbourg have already been outbid, report Foot Mercato, with an unnamed MLS club submitting a slightly higher offer with an English club and a Turkish club also interested in Ferhat. Meanwhile, Marseille held talks with the player earlier this summer.
Having joined from Ligue 2 Le Havre in 2019, Ferhat has contributed 15 assists and nine goals across 62 games to date for Les Crocs, including an impressive 16 goal contributions in 33 Ligue 1 games last season as Nîmes finished 19th in the French top flight.
