St Etienne have confirmed the signing of OGC Nice attacker Neal Maupay. Maupay joins on a 4 year contract for a fee believed to be worth €500k.
Much was expected of the youngster after he made his Ligue 1 debut at the age of just 16. A series of knee injuries have held back his progress, however, with Maupay playing just eleven games last season, failing to score in any.
At the age of 18, the French youth international still has plenty of time to reach his potential and a scene change to Les Vert much be what is needed to resurrect his progress. St Etienne’s lack of attacking threat was exposed in their defeat to Toulouse at the weekend and Maupay may provide much needed goals.
