St. Cloud State University will offer two youth wrestling camps during the month of June 2013. A Mini Intensive Camp for grades 7-12 will be offerend on June 16-21, while a Youth Camp for wrestlers in grades K-6 will be offered on June 24-26.
The Mini Intensive Camp costs $400 and it includes three all-you-can-eat meals, a camp t-shirt and first class wrestling instruction from the SCSU coaches. Participants will train like a Husky wrestler and this will include instruction in the latest techniques, drills, live wrestling, conditioning workouts, weight training tips, dieting and nutrition sessions and sports psychology sessions.
This camp will also be offered in a commuter camp format for $250. The commuter camp includes two meals per day.
The Youth Camp is a great opportunity for youngsters to learn new wrestling techniques and drills while providing opportunities to compete in live match situations. The cost for the Youth Camp is $75. The camp sessions on June 24-26 are K-2 (9 a.m.-Noon) and grades 3-6 (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.).
One of the nation’s premiere collegiate wrestling programs, St. Cloud State has finished as the runner-up at the NCAA Division II championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013 under the direction of head coach Steve Costanzo. SCSU has gained individual championships during those three seasons including John Sundgren in 2011, Derek Skala in 2012 and Shamus O’Grady in 2013.
