For almost three weeks, Washington has been gripped by every twist and turn in the trial of Paul Manafort, the president’s former campaign chairman.

Once a stalwart of Washington’s elite, the political strategist now faces a maximum of 80 years in prison after being found guilty on eight counts of tax and bank fraud. 

The judge declared a mistrial on the remaining 10 counts after the jury were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.

Prosecutors spent the 16-day trial laying out Manafort’s opulent lifestyle in minute detail – from his now infamous $15,000 ostrich jacket to his penchant for expensive antiques.
