The show kicks off with Johnny Gargano. The newly crowned NXT North American champion came out to a huge ovation and the crowd chanted “Johnny Champion” as he stood in the ring. They also chanted “you deserve it,” to which he responded with “no, we deserve it.” He then said that Johnny Wrestling is back.
This brought out NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa. The champ said he wanted to celebrate Johnny’s moment. He said that Gargano had followed his lead and that they both now own the world. Ciampa reminded Gargano of their time coming up in NXT together and said they proved to the world that this is their moment.
Gargano said there was no “our” moment. He said that Johnny Gargano would never need Tommaso Ciampa. This brought out The Velveteen Dream, who said that tonight was about the moment that stole Takeover and the man that stole Takeover by just showing up.
Sorry, @JohnnyGargano & @ProjectCiampa, The #WorldsCollide Tournament winner @VelveteenWWE is here and TONIGHT is about the #DREAM! #WWENXT pic.twitter.com/NmWV35up5C

The Dream then spoke about his win in the Worlds Collide Tournament and that he has decided who he wants to face in NXT. He stood face to face with Ciampa but then told the champ that he didn’t want him. Dream then turned his attention to Gargano and the two men stood nose-to-nose in the middle of the ring.
Gargano said that he was feeling a little dangerous. But The Dream wanted to know if he would be facing Johnny Champion or Johnny Jacka**. The crowd chanted the latter, as Gargano slowly backed out of the ring.
205 Live Superstar Drew Gulak is shown arriving at Full Sail for this edition of NXT.
THE FORGOTTEN SONS’ JAXSON RYDER VS. MANSOOR
Ryder was accompanied to the ring by teammates Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler. Ryder dominated the match early on, using his strength and ferocity to keep Mansoor at bay. Ryder then hit his No Remorse finisher and this squash match is over.
WINNER: JAXSON RYDER
Ryder then went after Mansoor after the closing bell as the ref demanded that all three men get out of the ring.

Ricochet is speaking backstage and is interrupted by The Undisputed Era, who called him a one-trick pony. Cole said that the NXT North American Championship has his name written all over it. Ricochet challenged Cole to a match on next week’s show. Cole accepted and Ricochet said it didn’t matter who he had to go through to regain his title.
The North American Championship will be decided in two weeks as Gargano defends the belt against The Velveteen Dream.
DREW GULAK VS. ERIC BUGENHAGEN
Gulak is out first, followed by Bugenhagen, who is playing air guitar and shrieking at the top of his lungs. It’s a comical entrance and the fans seem to be into it, as Eric is completely immersed in his character. Gulak however, is not impressed.
Bugenhagen was out quickly but Gulak shut him down just as quickly. Drew took over the match and grounded him as the crowd began cheering for the new NXT star. Eric began getting some offense and eventually cinched up Gulak in an abdominal stretch, where he played him like a guitar.
The crowd is on Bugenhagen’s side but Drew clamps on the Gu-Lock, forcing Eric to tap out.
WINNER: DREW GULAK

Giulak got the mic and said that he was insulted by having to wrestle Bugenhagen, who he called Ben Stiller from Dodgeball. Gulak called out anyone who wanted to step up and this brought out The Original Bro, Matt Riddle. Riddle said that everyone in NXT sets the bar, day in and day out. He told Gulak to get out of the ring and NXT, or he would tap him out of it.
Gulak told Riddle to take off his “little flip-flops” and make his day. Riddle accepted.
MATT RIDDLE VS. DREW GULAK
The match started with a few takedowns, as both men were feeling each other out. Riddle went for the armbar but Gulak blocked it and took over. The two men battled back and forth, trying to gain the advantage. One counter after another and they finally ended up on their feet in a stare-down.
The crowd was firmly behind Riddle but Gulak gave as good as he received. Gulak grounded Riddle and stretched him, as the crowd marveled at his mat work. Riddle got his second wind and began fitting back as the tempo of the match picked up.
Riddle hit a powerbomb, followed by a knee strike and then the Bromission submission move. Gulak tapped out and Riddle celebrated in the middle of the ring. This was a very good match and arguably the best bout Riddle has had since joining NXT.
WINNER: MATT RIDDLE
Gulak confronted Riddle after the match and offered his hand. Riddle accepted and the two shook hands.

Io, Kairi and Bianca are out first, followed by Baszler, Duke and Shafir. Belair and Baszler started the match and the NXT Women’s champion took control early.
Belair took all three on individually and then tagged out to Sane, who nearly got a three count on Duke. But Baszler and company soon took over and isolated Kairi in the corner. But Sane fought her way out and threw some heavy chops at Shafir, as the crowd popped every time.
Baszler tagged back in and started working on Sane, keeping her from Shirai and Belair. The MMA Horsewomen tagged in and out, working over Sane in the process. Sane finally managed to make the hot tag and Shirai came in full throttle. She took on all three Horsewomen one by one and nearly got the pin on Baszler.
Kairi tagged back in and hit the Insane Elbow on Baszler but did not get the pin. Sane tagged Belair in this time and she charged into the ring. She kit the KOD on Baszler, as Sane came off the top on Shafir and Duke on the outside of the ring. Shirai hit a springboard moonsault off the top rope and pinned the women’s champ!
WINNERS: IO SHIRAI, Kairi Sane AND BIANCA BELAIR
