Killam’s Analysis

And then there were three.

Archer & Suzuki were unfortunately eliminated this morning despite scoring another win, and a loss for Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI mean they have also been knocked out of the running. With three matches left, at most the two teams can tie current pack leader EVIL & SANADA, whom they have both lost to. And that’s assuming the Los Ingobernables stars lose the rest of their remaining matches, which is just incredibly unlikely.

Right now, the three remaining teams in contention – EVIL & SANADA (22), the Guerrillas of Destiny (20), and FinJuice (20) – all have three matches left to go. Thursday’s show should see wins for the first two, unless we get an upset, but Archer & Suzuki have the chance to play eliminator and knock out FinJuice in the main event. Friday’s show is a similar situation, but all three teams should see victories – again, unless we have an upset.

So if that all plays out we’ll head into the final night of the 2019 World Tag League on Sunday with EVIL & SANADA at 26, the Guerrillas of Destiny at 24 and FinJuice at 24.

Here’s where things get interesting. GoD will face Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI in a must-win situation to tie the leaders. Meanwhile, EVIL & SANADA will battle FinJuice in what is likely to be the main event. If GoD wins it means FinJuice is screwed no matter what they do; all they’ll be able to do at that point is play spoiler. If GoD loses their fight, it’s win-or-go-home for the presumed main event.
