NHL team condemns white supremacists using its logo

Alt-right white supremacists were spotted Saturday at the Charlottesville, Va., rally carrying objects with the Red Wings logo on them. It did not take long for the NHL organization to react.

The Red Wings released a statement condemning the actions of those at the rally, saying they will ”exploring every possible legal action as it pertains to the misuse of our logo in this disturbing demonstration.”

A white nationalist group from Michigan that calls itself the Detroit Right Wings tweeted Friday night that members had arrived for the rally in Charlottesville. Video of people marching with the Red Wings logo appeared on social media Saturday morning.

A state of emergency has been declared in Charlottesville because of altercations between those taking part in the rally and anti-white supremacist protesters.
