Nantes President Waldemar Kita was last night at the centre of a very embarrassing situation after it emerged that he instructed stadium officials to turn up the volume of the stadium music in order to drown out outgoing manager Michel der Zakarian’s farewell speech to the fans after his last home game in charge.
Kita and der Zakarian have not seen eye to eye since last year, with the latter refusing to sign a contract extension with Nantes because he was fed up with the treatment that he has received from the board.
These latest antics from Kita prove that der Zakarian was perhaps making the right decision in leaving the club.
