Monday Night Raw has a Fatal 5 Way Elimination Match winner faces Seth Rollins for the Universal Champion next week.
Looks like The Fiend is taking over the show in strange ways and it starts during the opening WWE Forever crawl. Followed by the recap of The Fiend attacking Kane at the end of last week. Yowie Wowie!
The buildup for the match at Hell in a Cell is going to be very very fun.
Universal Champion Seth Rollins kicks off the live portion of the show and he looks shook up from last week. Seth says he’s going to survive and prevail a few times.
Then Braun Strowman’s music hits. Braun gets into the ring and confronts Rollins. Seth isn’t happy about it and challenges Strowman to a fight. Doesn’t seem like a wise choice.
Match #1: Tag Team Match
The Viking Raiders v The OC w/United States Champion AJ Styles
New agressive music for The OC! Awesome!
I’ve said it before, but I’m glad the Vikings are finally out of the enhancement talent hole they were in.
The ref sees AJ trying to interfere and kicks him out of ringside. Then Cedric Alexander jumps AJ at the top of the ramp and they brawl into the commercial break.
After the break The OC is in full control of this match. Then of course some great back and forth. Both of these teams are entertaining.
Match End: The Viking Raiders win with the Viking Experience. Huge win for them!
Robert Roode says he’s going to win the fatal 5 way match tonight because he’s….Glorious. Sorry Robert, but with that tag belt that’s a no from me.
Michael Cole interviews Becky Lynch backstage. Asks her if asking for a Hell in a Cell match against Sasha Banks is a good idea. Of course she does. She can’t wait to fight Sasha trapped inside the cage. The Man is always up for a fight.
Match #2: Singles Match
Rusev v EC3
Poor EC3 didn’t get an entrance on tv. One day the respect will come back…
Rusev makes short work of EC3.
Match End: Rusev makes EC3 tap out.
Rey Mysterio is backstage and he’s reminding us that he almost retired but didn’t because of his son. Hes going to win because of his son. Sorry Rey, but no chance.
March #3: Singles Match
Women’s Tag Team Champions Nikki Cross w/Alexa Bliss v Sasha Banks w/SmackDown Woman’s Champion Bayley
Cole tells us at least 3 times that this is the first time Nikki Cross has faced Sasha Banks. Hope it lives up to his hype.
Yeah, this has been pretty decent so far. Lots of near falls from Nikki. Slower pace style which makes all the moves seem to hit harder. Yes this lived up to the hype.
Bayley gets involved and Bliss takes her out.
Match End: Sasha Banks forces Nikki Cross to tap out to the Banks Statement.
Alexa enters the ring and get put into the Banks Statement as well.
The OC is shown backstage talking about how no one is in AJ Styles’ league. Not with that United States Championship you’re not…sadly…
Street Profits are here to hype the main event tonight. Then The Miz comes out of nowhere and announces that he is a dad for the second time. Then they roll a clip of Brock Lesnar challenging Kofi for the WWE Championship last week. First time in 15 years that Brock will be on SmackDown in a match.
Match #4: Singles Match
Lacey Evans v Ember Moon
Corey and Renee both address the speeding ticket incident that when viral in Edmonton this weekend. Hilarious!
Ember starts the match off with a drop kick into the throat of Lacey Evans.
Natalya is shown watching backstage.
This match has been borderline strong style compared to the Sasha/Nikki match.
Match End: Lacey Evans makes Ember tap out to the worst sharpshooter ever shown on tv in the history of the WWE.
Natalya is asked about her thoughts. Says she wants a rematch.
Time for another episode of the Firefly Fun House! Bray adds a picture of Kane to the wall of “friends”. The puppets are fighting over a doll of Seth Rollins. Bray teaches them a lesson in letting go. The puppets don’t want The Fiend to hurt Rollins. Bray says The Fiend is trying to protect Seth, the he breaks the doll in half. See you in hell!
R-Truth and Carmella run down to the ring followed shortly by the rest of the usual suspects. Carmella tells them to stop chasing them around arenas. Carmella says she’s done with it. Then pins R-Truth to win the 24/7 title!!
Renee gets in a consummate the title joke about Carmella and Graves to which he replies “too late for that”. Ha!
Then R-Truth celebrates with Carmella as a group of the women wrestlers run down to ringside and chase the both of them into the back.
Sasha Banks is backstage talking about how she’s going to get back what is hers.
Match #5: Singles Match
King Corbin v Chad Gable
King Corbin has new music and now comes out with a black crown and sceptre with a terrible robe. Still looks like the manager of an Applebee’s.
More short jokes. Poor Gable…
I’ll be honest, I kind of tuned this one out. Sorry…
Match End: King Corbin is disqualified because he used his sceptre on Gable.
AOP are backstage and are attacking people in the hallways. Then they sit down and tell us that no one wants to fight them.
Match #6: Fatal 5-way Elimination Match winner will face the Universal Champion Seth Rollins next week.
Rey Mysterio v Ricochet v Raw Tag Team Champion Robert Roode v Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura w/Sami Zayn v United States Champion AJ Styles
Ring the bell, cut to commercial. Never change WWE.
Ricochet/Mysterio showcase is up first. With quick hits from everyone else but right back to them.
Ricochet hits the recoil on Roode, but Nakamura runs in and hits Ricochet with a Kinshasa and gets the pin.
Richochet is eliminated. (didn’t see that coming so early)
Robert Roode tried to pin everyone after a huge super suplex. Didn’t work. Nakamura takes over the match for a while then Rey Mysterio comes in and his a 619 on Nakamura!
AJ Styles suplexes Rey onto the apron then hits a Phenomenal Forearm on Nakamura then a pin.
Nakamura is eliminated!
AJ gets up and Robert Roode hits him with a Glorious DDT followed by a pin.
AJ Styles is Eliminated! Holy smokes!
Only Rey Mysterio and Robert Roode are left! Who would have predicted that?
Roode is getting cocky…Mysterio gets in a quick 2 count rollup. Roode hits a spine buster! 2 count. Rey tries a seated sent on. Nope. Roode tries a Glorious DDT but is thrown into the ropes. 619! Flying splash! Pin!
Rey Mysterio wins and will face Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship next week!!! What a match!
Backstage Rollins is asked about the match next week while he prepares for his match tonight. Says it’s a dream match for him next week. The matches are stacking up on Rollins and he’s feeling the heat.
Main Event: Singles Match
Braun Strowman v Universal Champion Seth Rollins.
Rollins survives the early barrage from Strowman then chops the big man down move by move but can’t seem to finish off Strowman. Seth pulls out all the big moves and dives but gets a chokeslam outside the ring instead followed by some running shoulder tackles.
Then the lights go out
The Fiend takes out Braun Strowman with the mandible claw! Then he turns his attention to a beaten down Seth Rollins who screams in fear while clutching the bottom rope. Strowman tries to get up and gets another claw.
Seth Rollins is paralyzed in fear as The Fiend stares him down.
Then the lights go out again and the evil laughing loops to end the show.
