Pillow block bearings consist of an outer spherical ball bearing with seals on both sides and a cast (or steel plate stamped) bearing seat. On the contrary, the pillow block bearing has a compact structure, but it is easy to load and unload, and the sealing is also perfect. It is often used in mining, metallurgy, agriculture, chemical industry, textile, printing and dyeing, conveying machinery, etc.
Installation steps and precautions for the pillow block bearings:
1. Before installing the bearing on the shaft, the fixing pin of the bearing jacket must be pulled out first, and the surface of the journal must be polished smooth and clean, and the journal should be oiled to prevent rust and lubricate (allow the bearing to rotate slightly on the shaft).
2. Apply lubricating oil on the mating surface of the bearing seat and the bearing, and install the bearing into the bearing seat. Then put the assembled bearing on the shaft together with the bearing seat. Push to the desired location for installation.
3. Do not tighten the bolts that fix the bearing seat first, so that the bearing shell can rotate in the bearing seat. Also install the bearing and seat on the other end of the same shaft, turn the shaft a few times, and let the bearing itself find the correct position automatically. Re-tighten the bearing housing bolts.
4. Install eccentric sleeve. First put the eccentric sleeve on the eccentric step of the inner sleeve of the bearing, and tighten it by hand along the rotation direction of the shaft. Then insert the small iron rod into or against the countersunk hole on the eccentric sleeve. Hit the small iron rod with a hammer in the direction of rotation of the shaft. Install the eccentric sleeve firmly, and finally tighten the hexagon socket head cap screw on the eccentric sleeve.
Disassembly steps and precautions for the pillow block bearings:
1. First loosen the locking screw on the bearing eccentric sleeve with an Allen wrench, then insert a small iron rod into the countersunk hole on the top cover eccentric sleeve, and loosen the eccentric sleeve against the rotation direction of the shaft.
2. Loosen the bolts that fix the bearing seat. Remove the bearing from the shaft with the bearing housing. Take care before removing the bearing housing at one end of the shaft. The bearing seat bolt on the other end of the shaft should be loosened to avoid damage to the bearings at both ends.
