Ligue 1 side Lille last night announced the suspension of Argentinian manager Marcelo Bielsa with immediate effect after an internal inquiry was launched into the situation.
Bielsa has fallen out entirely with club Sporting Director Luis Campos, the players are not impressed with the 3-3-3-1 formation and that it necessitates that they play, in certain instances, out of position and Bielsa’s coaching staff have a poor relationship with the current playing squad.
It is unclear as to what Lille will do now, whether they will decide to keep him or not, with Bielsa reportedly demanding a €12.5m pay-out to leave the club.
Contrary to Spanish-speaking sources last night, Bielsa was not suspended for his unauthorised trip to Chile in order to visit Luis María Bonini, a fitness coach who Bielsa worked with at the head of the Chilean national team who is currently very ill, according to RMC.
