Speaking to the press ahead of Lyon’s home match against Strasbourg tomorrow afternoon (17:30 CET), manager Laurent Blanc addressed the big elephant in the room, the tense climate at the club in a season which has ultimately already proved disappointing for both the fans and players alike. The following was transcribed by RMC Sport.
Blanc does not shirk the question, instead replying in rather frank terms with “We are all suffering from this [the football’s club’s tense atmosphere]. It’s our fault because we don’t have results. We are not winning,” says the former France boss, and with a stern glance at the reporter he finished his answer by repeating, “It’s our fault.”
Les Gones have been playing well below their pre-season expectations, as Peter Bosz was sacked following the worst run of results the side has endured for 30 years with four losses in a row in Ligue 1. Blanc has looked to stabilise the ship, winning four games so far as the side’s new manager, losing three, and drawing twice in his first nine games.
