As noted, Finn Balor was pulled from his scheduled contest against Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at the WWE Smackville live WWE Network special on Saturday evening, forcing WWE to use Ali as a late-replacement in the match.
WWE posted the following video of Ali challenging Nakamura, leading to their unadvertised, impromptu showdown at last night’s live special from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
After coming up short in his attempt to claim the I-C title from Nakamura, Ali spoke in a WWE.com Exclusive interview backstage at the show about always being ready and willing to jump on any opportunities that may come his way.

Also at last night’s WWE Smackville special, Kofi Kingston managed to walk out of the Bridgestone Arena with his WWE Championship in tact after a grueling Triple-Threat Match against Dolph Ziggler and Samoa Joe.

After the match, Kingston spoke in a WWE.com Exclusive backstage interview as well. In his interview, the WWE Champion has some words for Randy Orton, delivering a warning to his WWE SummerSlam 2019 opponent before their championship-showdown on August 11th at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, ONT.
