Yesterday PW Insider reported that Ring of Honor had parted ways with producer/trainer Joey Mercury after being with the promotion for over a year, and that both parties mutually agreed on the decision. However, that doesn’t seem to be the full story.
Mercury has since released a series of Tweets calling out ROH general manager Greg Gilleland for severe mismanagement, sharing text threads he’s had with Gilleland regarding talent safety, which included Women of Honor champion Kelly Klein not being diagnosed for a concussion right away even though Mercury warned their medical staff about early symptoms. When Gilleland asked Mercury why he was being attacked, Mercuy responded with this:
Unsafe environment for Talent in and out of the ring,” Mercury wrote. “No Security. No medical staff. No Women on creative, worst looking wrestling on or off tv. No job description. Nothing in terms of anything I’ve suggested. Total BREACH on YOUR end- and everyone involved that bulls–t, non punctuation using, grammatical pigf-ck of a contract.
Kelly Klein backed Mercury’s story up, and issued the following:
We had someone, @JOEYnRetrograde, who wanted to do that and tried to do that…
I LOVE Ring of Honor and I want to make it better. I want us to be allowed to make it better. pic.twitter.com/43NOD2nYyQ

I’m scared I will get in trouble for saying something in public about it.
But the reports I’ve seen are wrong.
He is the best coach I ever had. I partly stayed there so I could keep learning from him. He looked out for us and he tried to make it better.— Kelly Klein (@RealKellyKlein) November 1, 2019
Mercury would commend the crew and talent for ROH, but expressed that he no longer cares about a breach of contract after the atrocities he mentions. He addresses the Bully Ray fan incident, claiming that ROH provided no security at that event, forcing Ray to have to take action. He also reveals that several talents, including Bandido, PJ Black, and Television champion Shane Taylor will not be re-signed at the beginning of 2020. Taylor and his family have not been told. Remember when that deal in the Pacific Northwest went down? I’m surprised security let that fan stay and watch the rest of the show…. oh yeah… no security!… Duh… I was also disappointed a respected veteran was forced to make a judgement call- and THAT was called into ????

I’m obviously f’d off about incompetence and negligence of manager(ment), generally – to the point I am on Twitter- and rather non plussed about a contract I’m breaching that IS English words, but not in an order that doesn’t contradict itself. So…. breach on, breacherman.
