Camping follows a group of friends who go on a trip to the woods to celebrate the birthday of Walt (Tennant), Garner’s on-screen husband. At the core of the series are the long-ignored issues in Kathryn (Garner) and Walt’s marriage. Garner likens their relationship and its on-screen development to cleaning a closet. “My mom always says when you’re cleaning out a closet, it has to get a lot worse before it can get better,” she told InStyle, “And this weekend is them cleaning out a closet, whether they know it or not. And it gets pretty bad.”
Camping premieres on HBO Sunday, Oct. 14.
