Having seen interest from multiple Spanish clubs, the 30-year-old is close to joining La Liga champions Atlético Madrid on loan for the coming season. According to Foot Mercato, the deal has already been given the green light by the Ligue 1 club, with discussions progressing between the two sides over a loan with an option to buy clause.
The deal could be finalised quickly with Atlético looking to replace Jan Oblak’s understudy Ivo Grbić (25) who joined Lille, also on loan, just today. Formerly of Dijon, Lorient and Montpellier, since moving to Monaco in 2019, Lecomte has played 60 times and kept 20 clean sheets in all competitions.
