After taking a break in 2017, the Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic Tournament is set to return to NXT.
The tournament kicks off at tonight’s NXT television tapings at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia. Mike Rome announced at the conclusion of last night’s NXT tapings that Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler, now known as The Forgotten Sons, will be entering the tournament.
Finn Balor and Samoa Joe won the first-ever Dusty Rhodes Tag-Team Classic Tournament in 2015, defeating Baron Corbin and Rhyno in the finals at the NXT TakeOver: Respect special event. The Authors Of Pain won the tournament in 2016 by defeating TM61 in the finals at the NXT TakeOver: Toronto special event.
Following tonight’s tapings at Center Stage in Atlanta, NXT returns to their home base at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida for the final set of television tapings leading into the NXT TakeOver: New Orleans special during WrestleMania 34 weekend.
