According to Goal, Crystal Palace have submitted a €17m offer to Lens for midfielder Cheick Doucouré (22), but the Ligue 1 side value the player at €25m.
Doucouré already has an agreement in place with the London club, but their first offer falls short of RC Lens’ valuation of their Malian midfielder, who appeared 34 times for the club last season. Doucouré, alongside Seko Fofana (27), formed a crucial partnership in the heart of the Lens midfield as they narrowly missed out on securing European football next season.
Lens are in no need to sell one of their star assets of the 2021/22 season, and Doucouré has a contract running through until 2024. It has previously been reported by L’Équipe that there is a difference in the valuation of the player between the two clubs.
If they are to get their man, Crystal Palace will likely have to improve upon their opening offer and bridge the difference in valuation.
