Kent Pumpkin Run gears up for
35th running by announcing partnership with the Kent Memorial
Library’s Annual Car Raffle
KENT, CT — For a race that more than doubled in size last
year, the Kent Pumpkin Run shows no signs of slowing down as it gears up for
the 35th running on October 30th. Race organizers
announced the formation of a partnership with the Kent Memorial Library to
promote the organization’s annual Car Raffle.
The Raffle’s grand prize, a 2000 Porsche Boxster, has been
designated as the Event’s Official Pace Car, and will lead participants along
the scenic 5 mile course that winds through and around the historic village of
Kent. In addition to the
traditional prize money, the top male and female finishers will be awarded
complimentary entries in the Raffle, courtesy of the Kent Chamber of
Commerce. The Grand Prize drawing
for the sleek sports car will take place in conjunction with the Race’s awards
ceremony at Kent Green.
“Our partnership with the Kent Memorial Library is an
exciting enhancement to this year’s race and hopefully for many more to come”
noted Ellen Corsell, a long time member of the Race’s Organizing
Committee. “By prominently
featuring the Car Raffle in our pre-event marketing efforts, we hope to raise
awareness and build support for the annual Raffle. This is consistent with our
mission to give back to the local community.”
“The possibility that one of our runners may actually win
the grand prize and drive home in the Race’s Official Pace Car is sure to generate
a lot of excitement”, commented Race Director Dave Dunleavy. “It’s going to
give this small town race a big time boost”, he added.
Raffle tickets are available at the Kent Memorial Library
for $20. The Grad Prize car is on
display outside the Library.
Proceeds go to support the Library’s annual operating budget and make an
important contribution since the Kent Memorial Library is responsible for
raising over 70% of its annual budget.
Registration for the 35th Annual Kent Pumpkin Run
officially opens on August 1st; for additional information about the Race and
