Cena & Bella Back Together? CM Punk/WWE Lawsuit Delayed, Benjamin

When John Cena and Nikki Bella both announced that they had decided to call off their May 5th wedding before separating entirely, fans were heartbroken. However, recent interviews from the two WWE Superstars and reports showing the two of them meeting each other in private have indicated that the relationship may not be dead after all. According to a new report from PEOPLE, the relationship is not finished at all with a source even noting that “they’re basically back together.” It was further mentioned that both sides never stopped talking to each other and that the two of them are expected to announce that the relationship and their marriage is back on at some point very soon.
CM Punk’s controversial WWE departure in 2014 has left a lot of bad blood between the two sides that will likely not be resolved any time soon. After criticizing WWE’s medical team during an appearance on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast, WWE doctor Chris Amann swiftly filed a lawsuit against both Punk and Cabana that has continued to linger on ever since. According to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet, the case has been delayed as both sides are reportedly discussing a settlement. The case had been set to go to trial on May 22nd, but it is unknown when the trial will resume now. Amann is seeking $1 million in damages for the disparaging comments that Punk made about him and his medical practices.
Shelton Benjamin returned to WWE last year as a member of the Smackdown roster. Benjamin had been part of a tag team with Chad Gable, but after Gable was moved to Raw in the Superstar Shakeup last month, Shelton has refocused on his singles career. During a match against Sin Cara at a WWE live event in Prague, Czech Republic over the weekend, Benjamin came down to the ring with the “Ain’t No Stopping Me Now” entrance theme that he used during his previous WWE stint. Benjamin ended up winning the match with the Paydirt. With the return of Shelton’s old entrance theme, it certainly looks like Benjamin will continue to go solo on Smackdown for the foreseeable future.
