When asked about Braun Strowman’s Money in the Bank contract/briefcase, a source within The WWE said that unless something extremely shocking happens, Strowman “wasn’t given the briefcase for a failed cash-in” which would imply that when Braun decides to use his opportunity, he will become The Universal champion. As previously reported, one of the rumors going around was that Roman Reigns would finally pin Brock Lesnar to capture the title at SummerSlam but lose it within minutes to Strowman.
One of the challengers WWE creative is looking at as a next possible opponent for AJ Styles is Samoa Joe. Joe has been visibly de-emphasized and even absent in recent weeks, but he is still said to be a “key player” in the company’s plans as one of the reasons he was moved from RAW to SmackDown was to feature in some of the brand’s top storylines. A program against reigning champion Styles is bound to happen sooner rather than later.
