Bobby Fish officially signs with AEW

Bobby Fish has officially signed with AEW.

AEW confirmed after tonight’s episode of Dynamite on social media that Fish had signed a contract with the company. He made his debut on tonight’s show, losing to Sammy Guevara in a TNT title match.

On social media last week, Fish issued a challenge for the TNT title right after Guevara defeated Miro to win the title. During a promo that aired during the first commercial break of Rhodes to the Top, Guevara accepted the match for tonight. He retained the title after hitting the GTH in a competitive match.

Fish was released from WWE on August 6 due to ongoing budget cuts within the company. He was part of the Undisputed Era in NXT with Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong for most of his run with the company. Fish was off TV due to injury when the stable broke up. Upon his return, he lost to Pete Dunne then to former stablemate Strong before being released.

Fish is a former ROH World Television Champion as well as a former IWGP Junior Tag Team Champion and ROH World Tag Team Champion with Kyle O’Reilly, who he teamed frequently with in the 2010s under the name reDragon.
