The Indian Railways have made windfall profit of Rs 55 crore after the government launched a ‘give up’ scheme were senior citizens were urged to sacrifice the fare concessions they are entitled to.
Under the scheme, till June this year 32 lakh senior citizens have volunteered to give up the subsidy.
