A match between Adam Cole and Pat McAfee looks to be set for NXT TakeOver XXX.
Triple H made an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up this morning to discuss Cole and McAfee’s confrontation from last night’s NXT. During the appearance, Triple H challenged McAfee to face Cole at TakeOver XXX.
WWE.com wrote about Triple H’s challenge to McAfee:
You want to be famous Pat McAfee? Triple H is here to do that for you.
After a wild finish to NXT, Triple H joined ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ this morning to deliver a major challenge for NXT TakeOver XXX. The 14-time World Champion extended an invitation for Pat McAfee to face Adam Cole in the ring during the August 22 event.
The NFL Pro Bowler and the longest reigning NXT Champion had been locked in a heated war of words, but the pair had appeared to reach a truce before last night’s edition of the black and gold brand. The peace wouldn’t last long as an incensed Cole confronted McAfee on commentary, and the two had to be separated by officials. McAfee got in the final brutal message however, as the man who made his career with his right foot delivered an earth-shattering punt to Cole before being escorted out the door.

“A lot just happened,” McAfee tweeted after Triple H’s appearance on ESPN.
“Let me make this crystal clear for everyone, especially you @PatMcAfeeShow…Hunter is the one who can make this match happen, but I will be the one kicking your ass at #TakeOverXXX…if you’re as bad as you think you are, accept. I dare you,” Cole wrote.
Cole and McAfee’s confrontation from last night’s NXT was the follow up to an angle that was shot on McAfee’s radio show last month. McAfee is a sports media personality and former All-Pro punter for the Indianapolis Colts who also works as a contributor for WWE.
Two matches have been officially confirmed for TakeOver XXX thus far. Io Shirai will defend her NXT Women’s Championship against Dakota Kai at the event. There will also be a five-man ladder match for the vacant NXT North American Championship. Bronson Reed and Damian Priest have already qualified for the ladder match.
