It sadly looks as though the Monster Among Men will not be returning to Monday Night Raw anytime soon. As everyone knows by know, Braun Strowman suffered an elbow injury and has been taken off of television for the foreseeable future. Strowman’s injury was bad enough to require surgery, and though it was initially reported that he would be missing for 1-2 months before returning in time for a show like SummerSlam, that no longer appears to be the case. WWE.com revealed more about Strowman’s injury recently, and confirmed that the injury is far more severe than originally expected.
Strowman went down to Birmingham, Alabama to have his injury evaluated, and he also underwent surgery. During the procedure, it was apparently discovered that Strowman’s elbow was completely shattered, thus it will require extensive surgery to repair. Braun will now be expected to miss a whole six months of in-ring action due to this setback. Last week’s beatdown by Roman Reigns was done to take Strowman off of television until he was ready to return. On this week’s edition of Raw, Strowman was nowhere to be seen for the entire duration of the program.
The injury could not have come at a worse time for Braun. The popular star was set to face, defeat, and end his feud with Roman Reigns in an ambulance match at Extreme Rules. Next, he was locked in to main event Great Balls of Fire against Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. Meanwhile, Reigns was, and still is, rumored to be winning the Intercontinental Championship soon. Perhaps something could change during the surgery, but it appears that this is not part of any storyline, and Braun will indeed be gone for a while. Despite the setback, Strowman has vowed to return as the same unstoppable monster that he was before the injury occurred.
