The huge buildup between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe for their upcoming match at the WWE Great Balls of Fire PPV has a lot of Paul Heyman’s fingerprints all over it. This is according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Ultimately, it is Vince McMahon who has the final decision and say to approve anything that appears on TV. But Meltzer believes that Heyman had a lot of influence on this storyline, just as he did with the Lesnar/Goldberg feud.
When it comes to Brock Lesnar, the feeling is that when he knows he can draw money with that superstar, he will likely put that guy over. On the flip side of that, when he knows that there isn’t a lot of money to be made, he will run through those opponents. Of course, a lot of what happens comes down to Vince’s take on it too.
Based on all of this, the question is now whether Joe/Lesnar will indeed be a one and done scenario as previously reported. If it is not a one and done scenario and a rematch is to take place, that rematch will not happen right away, WWE will probably book that rematch in the near future.
