A new report from Cageside Seats claims that former Ring of Honor star Adam Cole is going to be starting off his WWE career in NXT any day now. Fellow former ROH star Bobby Fish was recently welcomed aboard by Triple H, and (SPOILERS AHEAD) former Ring of Honor Champion Kyle O’Reilly also recently debuted in the most recent set of NXT tapings. O’Reilly and Cole are both rumored to be coming over the company in just a matter of time. Unlike the previously mentioned O’Reilly and Fish, both of whom debuted at Full Sail during NXT tapings, it seems likely that Cole will be sitting in the crowd during NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III, which is a tactic that WWE has done with future stars such as Bobby Roode and Drew McIntyre in the past.
In an update from a story that broke earlier in the week, fans were outraged when it was announced that Talking Smack, a post-show that aired after Smackdown ended each week, was going to be relegated to a monthly series rather than weekly. In response to a fan who asked why WWE would cancel the show despite the large number of fans who seemed to support it, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claimed via Twitter that “not enough people watched it.” The show was cancelled to the surprise of everyone, including the show’s hosts Daniel Bryan and Renee Young, but apparently it did not bring in the viewership needed to keep it around each week.
When Kairi Hojo (now Kairi Sane) was announced to have signed a deal with WWE, everyone was thrilled to see her use her top rope elbow drop finisher, which many have claimed to be the best in the business. Some fans were worried when it was reported that Sane was told to find a new finishing maneuver. We can confirm that she definitely used the move during the Mae Young Classic tournament tapings. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that WWE changed their minds about her not using it sometime before the tournament began. Whether the elbow drop will remain in her repertoire after the tournament though has not been discussed.
