It seems like a near-certainty that Daniel Bryan will step back into a ring and wrestle again at some point. Bryan has made it very clear that he still wants to wrestle but cannot due to WWE forbidding him to do so. The belief is that Bryan’s contract with WWE expires sometime in 2018, and it is very possible that he may choose to leave in favor of continuing his wrestling career someplace else. During an interview with Fansided, ROH COO Joe Koff revealed that “if Bryan Danielson would love to come back, I didn’t work with him personally while he was here, but I would personally welcome him back.” Bryan made a name of himself in Ring of Honor before coming to WWE, and it seems like he may defintely be ready to make a return to the promotion next year.
Throughout the Mae Young Classic tournament, the company teased an eventual match between the Four Horsewomen of MMA (Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, and Ronda Rousey) and the Four Horsewomen of WWE (Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks.) However, it was reported that the company decided to scrap the match, and no angle was done to further the feud at the Mae Young Classic finale. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer now claims that the match is still expected to happen, but they are trying to figure out how to move each WWE Horsewoman onto the same show. The match could be taking place at Survivor Series this November.
WWE is still creating DVDs based on some of their wrestlers. In fact, PWInsider recently published an entire list of DVDs that are set to be released next year. There will be new ‘Best of 2017’ DVDs featuring Raw and Smackdown, pay-per-views, and NXT. A new special on Shawn Michaels is also set to be released. For the first time ever, the company is going to be releasing a DVD based on AJ Styles. The company is also apparently releasing a DVD based on The Shield stable from a few years ago featuring Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose. No exact release dates were given for any of these, but they will be coming out in 2018.
