Completing a journey that seemed almost impossible before the Cruiserweight Classic began, Brian Kendrick will wrestle on a WWE pay-per-view for the first time since 2009 when he challenges WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins at Clash of Champions on Sunday.
Kendrick defeated Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik, and Rich Swann in a fatal four-way match on Monday’s edition of Raw to earn a shot at the title. Kendrick picked up the win after submitting Alexander with a choke that is now being called the Captain’s Hook.
Raw General Manager Mick Foley introduced the brand’s new cruiserweight division, and then brought Swann, Metalik, Alexander, and Kendrick out to the ring. Perkins didn’t make an appearance on Raw as the division made its debut.
It was also announced on Raw that Nia Jax would face Alicia Fox on Sunday’s kickoff show.
The current card for Clash of Champions is:
WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens defending against Seth Rollins
Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte defending against Sasha Banks and Bayley in a triple threat match
United States Champion Rusev defending against Roman Reigns

Raw Tag Team Champions The New Day defending against Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows
Cesaro vs. Sheamus in the final match of their best-of-seven series
Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho
