United Airlines is extending its ban on flights to mainland China and Hong Kong over concerns of coronavirus, the airline announced Wednesday.
The flights to Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai as well as Hong Kong will be suspended until April 24, according to the announcement.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and will evaluate our schedule as we remain in close contact with the CDC and other public health experts around the globe,” American Airlines said in a statement.

Earlier this month the airline had suspended flights through Feb. 20.
Delta Airlines previously suspended flights to China through April 30 and American Airlines had suspended flights to Hong Kong through April 23 and mainland China through April 24.
All travelers to Hubei Province of China, where the virus originated, are considered high risk by the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) and are subject to a 14-day quarantine.
The CDC confirmed the 14th case of coronavirus in the U.S. on Wednesday, in California. The patient had been under a federal quarantine because of their recent return to the U.S. on a State Department-chartered flight that arrived last week.
