The Undertaker’s Visit To NYC Had Nothing To Do With WWE Or 2K

Prior to this year’s SummerSlam, word got out that The Undertaker was in New York, the site of the event, which led many to believe that The Deadman was going to appear on the show.

He didn’t.

Following the event, Jerry “The King” Lawler was asked why The Undertaker was in New York during SummerSlam weekend, and the WWE Hall of Famer said that it might’ve had something to do with the WWE 2K video game. But, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Undertaker’s visit to NYC had nothing to do with WWE or 2K.

From this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“Undertaker was in New York for SummerSlam weekend but it had nothing to do with 2K Sports or the video game. Jerry Lawler didn’t know and was asked, said maybe it did, and people thought it did, but it wasn’t the case. In fact, the idea someone would have to do motion capture and came would have been impossible as you need an elaborate studio set up for that and they didn’t have one in New York.”
