New Japan Pro-Wrestling Returning To Madison Square Garden In 2020

New Japan Pro-Wrestling is returning to Madison Square Garden.

Multiple sources have confirmed to ProWrestling.com that the company will be returning to the iconic New York City arena before the end of 2020, with August being targeted as the most likely time period.

A specific date has not been locked in at this time. The Super J-Cast podcast did mention August 22nd as a strong possibility, and while those we have talked to cautioned that nothing is set in stone at this point, that is the weekend officials are currently pushing for.

New Japan sold out Madison Square Garden in 2019 with G1 Supercard, an event co-promoted by Ring of Honor during WrestleMania weekend. The headlining acts saw Kazuchika Okada regain the IWGP Heavyweight title from Jay White, while Matt Taven won the ROH World title in a triple threat ladder match.

There is no information about possible ROH involvement in the upcoming event.
