The French league goes on but definitely does not run low on excitement. Cannes and Nantes managed to go through the fifth leg of the season with a victory which sets both teams on the first place.

RC Cannes  showed no mercy at all for the newly promoted neighbours from St. Raphaël (0-3: 22-25, 14-25, 24-26), only to follow up their victory against Quimper (DEF) which brought them another success in the Cup of France. The actual leader, Nantes VB, managed to consolidate the first position claiming a five sets home victory against ASPTT Mulhouse: 3-2 (25-19, 25-12, 23-25, 19-25, 15-10). 5th win for Angie Bland (18 points, 7 winner blocks) and her team mates out of five games played this season.

Le Cannet conserves the 3rd place, only 2 points away from Cannes and Nantes. Venelles tried to cause sensation on Saturday evening against Le Cannet but eventually failed in tie-break (25-16, 28-30, 28-26, 19-25, 15-7) under the assault of Elizabeth Fedele’s and Myriam Kloster’s attacks (28 points, 10 points respectively).

The other results of the fifth leg of 2014-2015 season show Béziers scoring yet another 3-1 victory against Paris St-Cloud to secure the 6th place shared with Mulhouse. Both Istres and Vannes claimed away victories. Vannes dominated Terville Florange (1-3) while Istres claimed a five sets victory against the last placed Le Hainaut.
