The Cruiserweight division has largely been based around Enzo Amore for several months now. However, WWE decided to release Amore due to the fact that he withheld knowledge of the police investigation into his alleged sexual assault case. Enzo Amore had been the Cruiserweight Champion up until he was fired yesterday. Fortunately, Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan appeared on the 205 Live broadcast last night to address the situation on the cruiserweight title and what Enzo’s release means for the 205 Live brand. Daniel Bryan revealed some rather interesting information during his time on the show this past Tuesday night.

First and foremost, he stated that Enzo is no longer the Cruiserweight Champion and he will not be returning to the company. Obviously, Bryan did not go into the specifics as to why Amore was suddenly released from WWE. Instead, Bryan revealed that 205 Live will be getting a General Manager for the first time ever. The new GM for the show will arrive during next week’s show. Bryan also stated that the mystery General Manager will address the future of the Cruiserweight Championship. Enzo’s sudden release earlier that day likely caused WWE to quickly draw up new plans for the show. Stay alert as more news on Enzo Amore and 205 Live’s new General Manager continues to break.
As mentioned previously, an announcement for the location of WrestleMania 35 in 2019 could be taking place as soon as next week. Just recently, it was believed that Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the New York/New Jersey area were the two finalists bidding to host the event. However, a conference at Philadelphia City Hall, which was intended to announce ‘Royal Rumble Week’ since the event is being held there this Sunday, may have revealed that the Pennsylvania city will not be hosting the event after all. Mayor Jim Kenney stated that the city of Philly would “love to host a WrestleMania one day”. While this does not exactly confirm anything, it is possible that this means that WrestleMania could be on the way back to MetLife Stadium in 2019.
